the appliedAI Initiative’s standpoint on a German AI strategy

WHY

Our Motivation

The German Government will publish the German AI Strategy in autumn 2018. The position paper is an answer to the benchmark paper of the Government from June. It should serve politics and the public as a blueprint and a call for action on how Germany should adopt AI in order to keep up with the world in the AI race.

  • Creating a positive vision for AI Germany and Europe
  • Focusing efforts of support on a few AI centers in Germany to pool strengths
  • Following a holistic approach for the application of AI (economy, science, society, politics)
  • Teaching AI to professionals and adopters
  • Supporting German AI startups
  • Enabling AI research and transformation in companies
  • Addressing AI in schools and academia
  • Improving exchange and dialogue between research and industry
  • Creating legal frameworks for open data sources and test laboratories
